Welcome New Film Location - Val Kilmer's Pecos River Ranch to crewnewmexico.com!

crewnewmexico.com would like to give a special welcome to Val Kilmer and his Pecos River Ranch as a New Mexico Film Location on crewnewmexico.com's New Mexico Location Database!

The Pecos River Ranch is a 6,000 acre expanse of classic New Mexico high desert/mountain terrain, with over 6 miles of Pecos River frontage winding through the property. Located at elevations between 6,500 and 7,500', just 22 miles north of Santa Fe, there are several different types of landscapes -- pastures and ranchland, mesa, scrubland, red-rock escarpments, and 6 miles of waterfront. There's forests of pinon and juniper and oak, and fields of wildflowers in season. Wildlife includes bear, deer, elk, coyote, wild turkeys, cougars, and a host of birds of prey. There are barns, stables, and corrals, and plenty of space for production animals to stay during filming.

There are also several entrances to the property to allow for production vehicles of all sizes. They offer production housing on the property for cast, producers and directors, and are a pre-production training facility (we'll write more about that in another post). The Ranch is available for still/advertising shoots, commercials, and feature film production. It's a simply amazing piece of land, and film location.

Welcome New Member - New Mexico Film Location Old Magnolia Garage

We'd like to welcome New Mexico Film Location The Old Magnolia Garage to crewnewmexico.com! The Old Magnolia Garage is an historic film location for the New Mexico Film Industry. Its located on the corner of 4th and Pacific in Albuquerque, and is a convenient location in many ways! It is a working garage (but they'll work with your schedule for shoots), it has three bay doors and work areas, open work spaces, high ceilings, and has great proximity to all of ABQ, including a lot of nearby production parking. There is a large, open yard and alleyway behind the building that can be used for production vehicles, or for part of a shoot. The adjoining corners also have the same semi-industrial look, and one of them was even a former gas station, making this an excellent 1-stop shooting location. The owners of the garage restore vintage VW buses, so be sure to talk with them if old VWs are to be part of your shoot. We're happy to have added them to our New Mexico Locations Database!
