Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad, Filmed in New Mexico, Wins Second Emmy!

So many crewnewmexicans are involved in making Breaking Bad, and we're thrilled that Bryan Cranston has pulled off an amazing feat - his second consecutive Emmy. Great job by all.

Bryan Cranston has done it again: Breaking Bad's Emmy-winning actor picked up his second consecutive trophy as Best Actor in a Drama Series at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy awards Sunday night. "Lee Trevino was struck by lightning twice," Cranston said, accepting the award. "Now I know how he feels."

The veteran actor faced stiff competition for the honor: Dexter's Michael C. Hall, House's Hugh Laurie, In Treatment's Gabriel Byrne, The Mentalist's Simon Baker and AMC's own Jon Hamm of Mad Men. (Click here to read more about Mad Men's Emmy wins.)

The award was Breaking Bad's second of the year, the first of which went to Lynne Willingham, who picked up the best editing trophy -- her second consecutive as well -- at the Creative Arts Emmys last week.

AMCtv.com congratulates Breaking Bad and Mad Men for all their successes.

Breaking Bad is Back for a Third Season in New Mexico

Breaking Bad is a great feather in the cap for the New Mexico film industry. They're back for a third season of filming in New Mexico. It helps that the show is set in Albuquerque, (and they've had a great time shooting in New Mexico).

Bryan Cranston as Walter White * Anna Gunn as Skyler White * Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman * Dean Norris as Hank Schrader * Betsy Brandt as Marie Schrader * RJ Mitte as Walter White Jr.

Synopsis: Walt White is an ordinary chemistry teacher sleeping his way through life, but when he is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, he finally wakes up and begins to live life to the fullest. Realizing that he needs to provide financially for his pregnant wife and special needs son once he's gone, Walt puts his chemistry skills to use by creating a rolling meth lab.

Walt teams up with former student Jesse Pinkman, who teaches him about the entrepreneurial world of drug dealing. The two set up shop in a converted RV and before they know it, business is booming. No road to success comes without its share of problems and for Walt that comes in the form of an obnoxious brother-in-law Hank -- who happens to be a Drug Enforcement Agent!

Breaking Bad is Coming Back!

From the AMC TV Blog:

"From critical praise to strong ratings and a devoted audience, Breaking Bad further reinforced AMC as a top producer of high-quality, distinctive television," said Charlie Collier, Executive Vice President and General Manager of AMC. "Breaking Bad is a powerful, intelligent and thought-provoking series that clearly resonated with viewers and critics alike. We're excited for a second season of Breaking Bad with new and provocative storylines that will delve deeper into the next chapter in the life of Walter White." The second season, unlike the first which ran a brief seven episodes due to the writer's strike, will consist of thirteen episodes, the same number as Mad Men's Season 1 and upcoming Season 2.

Filming in and around ABQ, expected duration of filming 7 months.
